- And yearly check-ups after that.
What do they check for?
All check-ups check for physical, emotional, and social development. Head growth is measured from two weeks to thirty months to make sure there isn't fluid build up. The first few check-ups are to make sure a baby is feeding and growing. At six months and yearly after that, hemoglobin is check to make sure a child does not have anemia. Each check-up also has a set of questionnaires that either the parent or child answers to make sure they are developing normally. At the end of the eighteen month questionnaire, there is a check list called the M-CHAT that checks for Autism in toddlers. Gross and fine motor skills are checked at an early age to make sure a child is mentally developing. If you have any question, talk to your child's healthcare provider for more information.
